We got up extra early and picked up our friends and made our way down to the park-n-ride at 38th st & Washington to hop on the light rail. We saw lots of other racers there and made it down to ASU in plenty of time. My mom had gotten there even earlier and we were able to find her in a sea of people without any problems. Thank goodness for cell phones!
Wow! - there were over 30,000 people there, even a few famous people here and there. Jesse McGuire played the National Anthem on his trumpet - he was really good. Jake Plummer was the official starter.
